Program of Studies

NORTH  CARROLL MIDDLE

 

We provide academic placement on three levels:

 

Foundational –

Grade level classes with assistance.  Students in these classes often, but not always, require additional support and/or time for academic success.

 

Academic -

Instruction in these courses is geared toward on-grade level learners. Students enrolled in these courses require little additional support and/or time for academic success.

 

Honors –

Students enrolled in these courses are highly motivated and are expected to learn abstract concepts and concepts beyond the essential outcomes at a faster, more detailed pace; manage a more demanding workload; and demonstrate a deep understanding of content.

 

At the middle school level, ELA/Social Studies is paired based on ability levels.  Additionally, Math/Science is also paired based on ability levels.  For example, students in Honors ELA will also be enrolled in Honors Social Studies.
